Which countries are the best in renewable energy development?
Renewable energy is more popular every day. Many countries spend a huge amount of money in order to speed up their renewable energy development. In the future, this will be the most important energy source. But, some people believe that it will be the only energy source. Luckily, we have a lot of sunlight and a lot of wind. Both of them, we use right now, but we must use them even more in the near future.
In the wind power section, the situation is complicated between China and the United States. Both countries invest a lot of money and they are trying to be more efficient. It was a tight race between them, but since January 2015, the United States is the winner. This country delivered 167 billion kWh. This is 20% more than China, which delivered 138 billion kWh.
North America also leads in the recently announced energy storage projects. Residential solar sees have lower prices across the whole country. According to some experts, the energy storage will grow 10 times in the next 5 years. The situation is even better in California. It will push renewables for 50% by 2030. Now, renewables are 98% of new energy distribution in the United States.
However, Germany invests a lot of money on renewable energy. Their manufacturers are already working on increasing the productions of energy storage. For example, BMZ will increase the capacity for 4 times by 2020. In that year, Germany will abandon nuclear power.
But India is making progress as well. They will increase the wind energy capacity to 100 GW by 2022. A 750 MW facility will start operating soon.
