Tribe Working On Entering the Pot Business

Brace yourself as a native tribe is about to become the first one to venture into the pot business. The tribe, which also operates a casino in the eastern part of South Dakota, might just be the motivation that other tribes need and as a result we might see many of them following in their steps.

Last week, the governing body of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe voted in favor of legalizing pot for purposes of recreational use. In addition to that they have been encouraging tourists who are over the ages of 21 and above to come to the tribal island and smoke marijuana.

According to Seth Pearman, the tribal’s attorney, the intention of the tribe is to create an atmosphere that is same as the one that is in Amsterdam. Amsterdam, the capital city of Dutch, has been over the years known very popular among weed lovers who travel many miles so as to visit the capital.  In fact Amsterdam usually has marijuana dispensing coffee shops so as to make the whole process easier.

“By doing so we are hoping that we will be able to do away with the marijuana black market,” he said. “We are looking at creating an environment where any person can come freely use any marijuana products that are of high quality.”

There will be certain guidelines that will be used as the tribal attorney puts it. For instance tourist will only be allowed to take marijuana on the reservation. In addition to that only one gram of marijuana will dispensed at a particular time.
